"THERE IS A CRACK IN EVERYTHING. THAT'S HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN." LEONARD COHEN
By definition, Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer. In philosophy, it's a celebration of imperfections. With loving kindness we mend the broken pot, giving special care to it's cracks. For it's these cracks that make each Kintsugi unique, believing the pot is more beautiful for having been broken.
WE ARE ALL KINTSUGI.
Our experiences wear us down, shatter us. While we may want to hide these flaws and ignore our cracks, Kintsugi teaches us that each crack is an honest reminder of our history. Of battles won and lost. Of people loved. Of our successes and failures. And of the quiet faith we must have in ourselves. Join JAG Grow as we celebrate our experiences through this unique and heartfelt class. You are beautiful - it's time to celebrate it!

A Few Details
Sharp edges can happen when you break pottery, so please be careful. We recommend adult supervision for anyone under age 18.
Mixing the epoxy creates a chemical reaction. People with sensitive skin or allergies may want to consider wearing gloves.
Every piece of kintsugi is unique, and many pieces go back together in unexpected ways. Trust yourself and know that what you're creating is entirely original - just like you.
Hi, I’m Kirsten.
I use technology to drive mental health and women's empowerment efforts globally. After 12 years leading D&I, philanthropy, sustainability and branding efforts with Fortune 500 companies, I left corporate and jumped into global relief and empowerment. This work takes me to all corners of the world. From refugee camps in Greece to orphanages in Haiti. Hurricane zones to public health crises. Along the way, I've learned a lot about people, community and what it takes to build a better world for everyone.
Armed with expertise and experience, I founded Just A Girl (JAG), welcoming womxn and girls of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs to talk openly about emotions and experiences. Initiatives under JAG include Girl Talk Radio (on-demand radio and feminist podcasting syndicate), Artio (grassroots abortion support) and JAG Grow.
I was a finalist in the 2018 Institute for Evolutionary Leadership’s Future Challenge, a TEDx speaker and an advocate for the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up campaign. In addition to my formal education many moons ago, I hold certifications in Psychological First Aid and Therapeutic Art Coaching to best support psycho-social healing efforts.
